Music has always been one of the biggest creative triggers for me, and these two sculptures came directly from two concerts that stayed with me long after they ended.
The first piece was inspired by Robert Plant’s Carry Fire. His performance felt like a journey through different cultures, full of movement, rhythm, and a sense of freedom that naturally found its way into the sculpt.
The second piece grew out of a very different feeling after seeing Ben Howard live. His music has a quieter, more introspective quality, and I wanted the sculpture to reflect that same sense of stillness and contemplation.
The female figure was sculpted primarily in Oculus Medium, which at the time completely changed the way I thought about digital sculpting. Being able to create at full scale in VR still feels a bit like magic. Both pieces were then refined and finished in ZBrush.
If you’ve listened to either of these artists, you’ll probably bring your own interpretation to the sculptures. That’s one of the things I enjoy most about personal work, once it’s finished, it stops belonging only to me.

Final tweaks on her and the male figure were sculpted in Zbrush.
