I’ve always loved Hellboy’s world, so instead of sculpting the character as we already know him, I started imagining what his life might look like years after all the big battles were over.
“After living a very busy young life during the late 900’s serving as a “cop/detective/investigator” for the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense (BPRD), Hellboy pretty much held a deskjob for almost 30 years as no significant extra-dimensional activities happened after the old conflicts were solved…
In 2020, with the introduction of AI bots world wide, the Bureau was able to handle all minor incidents by themselves and finally laid off Hellboy for good.
About 10 years later (2030ish), Hellboy is living a low-key life in Toronto on a journey to self-knowledge and roaming free of his past bonds, in a world that doesn’t really care about him much…
He lives an average middle-class life, small apartment full of cats close to Downtown.
With all the free time he became an avid pop-culture consumer, but still always rooted on his dark/occult/heavyMetal beginnings.
But then, after all these years of chill life, some weird stuff started to happen again…
