Waiting for the Bus – Leech Girl

1–2 minutes

read

This is a personal project inspired by a girl I once saw waiting for a bus in my hometown. She obviously didn’t have the monstrous arm, but there was something about her posture, clothing, and overall attitude that immediately caught my attention.

I wanted to create a character that moved away from the stereotypical “overly sexualized” female designs that were so common at the time, and instead focus on personality and visual storytelling.

I made a quick sketch as soon as I got home, and from there the concept evolved naturally.

This project was also my first opportunity to integrate Substance Painter into my workflow and experiment with Marmoset Toolbag 3. All renders were captured directly in Toolbag, with no post-processing.
