It’s very interesting how our subconscious minds can guide our art if you are open to it. Once again trying to capture a moment in nature, step by step this project took shape and suddenly I realized this would be a portrait of a mother.
Watching in the distance.
Giving space but ready to step in and fight if necessary.
Fearless and Loving. Devoted but also going through her own personal journey.
No surprises, this is 1000% connected to my own life and relationship with my parents.
So I decided to call her Val, the MamaMonkey.
